Welcome to Immigrant Women Entrepreneur Canada ("IWEC," "we," "our," or "us"). IWEC is a community initiative operated by Newcomer Success Network Canada, a not-for-profit organization in Canada.
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, membership programs, events, resources, mentoring opportunities, community platforms, forms, digital content, and any related services offered through immigrantwomenentrepreneur.ca or any associated IWEC channels.
By accessing our website, registering for membership, submitting a form, attending an event, downloading a resource, joining our community, applying to become a mentor, requesting a mentor, volunteering, sponsoring, partnering with us, or otherwise using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our website or services.
1. About Immigrant Women Entrepreneur Canada
Immigrant Women Entrepreneur Canada is a community platform created to support immigrant women entrepreneurs, aspiring founders, professionals, mentors, and community leaders across Canada.
Our goal is to provide access to mentorship opportunities, business resources, educational content, workshops and events, networking opportunities, community support, visibility for women-led businesses, partnership and sponsorship opportunities, and practical tools for starting and growing a business in Canada.
IWEC is operated under Newcomer Success Network Canada, the not-for-profit organization responsible for the administration, governance, and operation of the platform.
2. Eligibility
By using this website or participating in IWEC programs, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, or you are using the website with consent from a parent or legal guardian; the information you provide is accurate, current, and complete; you will use the website and services only for lawful purposes; and you will not misuse the platform, community, events, directories, or resources.
IWEC is primarily designed for immigrant women entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs, mentors, professionals, partners, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters. However, we may allow participation from individuals or organizations aligned with our mission.
We reserve the right to approve, reject, suspend, or terminate participation in any program, membership, directory, event, mentorship opportunity, partnership, or volunteer activity at our discretion.
3. Website Use
You agree to use this website only for lawful, respectful, and appropriate purposes.
You must not use the website for fraudulent, misleading, abusive, or harmful activity; attempt to hack, damage, overload, interfere with, or disrupt the website; copy, scrape, harvest, or misuse member information; impersonate another person, business, organization, or representative; upload or submit false, offensive, defamatory, discriminatory, threatening, or unlawful content; use IWEC platforms to spam, harass, solicit, or exploit members; use our name, logo, branding, resources, or community access without permission; or attempt to gain unauthorized access to private areas of the website or member systems.
Any misuse of the platform may result in removal from the website, directory, event, membership, mentorship program, or community without refund where applicable.
4. Membership Plans
IWEC may offer different membership options, including free and paid membership levels. Current or future membership options may include free community membership, paid membership, mentor membership, mentee participation, business directory listing, event access, premium resource access, networking opportunities, visibility or promotional features.
Membership benefits may change from time to time. We reserve the right to update, modify, pause, or discontinue any membership feature, benefit, pricing, or access level.
Membership does not guarantee business success, funding approval, client acquisition, sales growth, partnership opportunities, mentor availability, event admission if capacity is limited, or acceptance into any specific program. IWEC provides community support, access, education, and networking opportunities, but individual results depend on many factors outside our control.
5. Paid Memberships, Fees, and Payments
If paid memberships, event tickets, workshops, sponsorships, directory listings, or other paid services are offered, all fees will be displayed at the time of purchase or registration.
By making a payment, you agree to provide accurate billing and contact information, pay all applicable fees, comply with any payment terms shown at checkout, and allow us or our third-party payment processor to process your payment.
All prices are listed in Canadian dollars unless otherwise stated. We may use third-party payment processors. We do not control their systems, policies, or processing times. You may be required to follow their terms and privacy policies when making a payment.
6. Refunds and Cancellations
Unless otherwise stated on a specific event, membership, or service page, payments may be non-refundable.
Refunds may not be available for missed events, unused membership benefits, failure to attend workshops, downloaded digital resources, change of mind, partial use of services, or sponsor or partner payments after promotional work has started. However, IWEC may review refund requests on a case-by-case basis.
For events, refunds or credits may depend on the event type, registration deadline, venue or vendor commitments, cancellation notice period, and administrative costs already incurred. If IWEC cancels an event, we may offer a refund, credit, transfer, or rescheduled event access depending on the circumstances.
7. Events, Workshops, and Programs
IWEC may organize online and in-person events, including networking events, educational workshops, mentorship sessions, founder meetups, webinars, leadership events, business showcases, community gatherings, and sponsor or partner events.
By registering for or attending an event, you agree to behave respectfully toward organizers, speakers, mentors, volunteers, partners, and attendees; follow event rules and venue policies; arrive on time where applicable; not disrupt the event; not record, photograph, or distribute content where restricted; and not promote unrelated products, services, or political or religious messaging unless approved.
IWEC reserves the right to refuse entry, remove participants, cancel registrations, or restrict future participation for inappropriate behaviour. Event details, speakers, schedules, venues, topics, and formats may change without prior notice.
8. Event Photography, Video, and Media Consent
IWEC events may be photographed, filmed, recorded, or livestreamed for community, marketing, educational, reporting, social media, website, sponsor, grant, or promotional purposes.
By attending an IWEC event, you acknowledge that your image, voice, name, business name, comments, or likeness may appear in photos, videos, recordings, or promotional materials.
If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, you must inform us in writing before the event and notify event staff upon arrival. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests, but we cannot guarantee exclusion from wide-angle, crowd, livestream, or background footage.
9. Mentorship Program
IWEC may offer mentorship-related services, including mentor applications, mentee requests, mentor matching, group mentorship, or educational sessions.
Mentorship is intended for guidance, support, learning, and community-building. It does not create a professional-client relationship. Mentors may provide general business advice, lived experience, industry insight, encouragement, and practical suggestions. Mentorship should not be treated as legal, financial, tax, investment, immigration, medical, accounting, or professional advice.
Mentees are responsible for making their own decisions and seeking qualified professional advice where needed. IWEC does not guarantee a mentor match, availability of mentors, frequency of sessions, specific business outcomes, funding success, revenue growth, problem resolution, or professional certification of mentors unless specifically stated.
10. Member Directory and Profiles
IWEC may offer a public or member-only directory featuring members, businesses, mentors, partners, or sponsors.
If you submit information for a member or business profile, you confirm that the information is accurate; you have permission to submit the content; you own or have rights to use any submitted photos, logos, descriptions, videos, or links; your profile does not violate the rights of another person or business; and you understand that approved profile information may be publicly visible.
IWEC may edit, refuse, remove, or hide profiles that are incomplete, misleading, inappropriate, outdated, promotional in a harmful way, or inconsistent with our mission. Being listed in the member directory does not mean IWEC endorses, guarantees, verifies, or certifies the quality, safety, legality, reliability, or performance of any member, business, mentor, sponsor, or partner.
11. Community Guidelines
IWEC is built to be a respectful and supportive space. All members, participants, mentors, volunteers, partners, sponsors, and users must follow these community standards: be respectful; avoid harassment, bullying, hate speech, discrimination, or personal attacks; do not exploit vulnerable newcomers or entrepreneurs; do not spam members; do not pressure people into purchases, investments, religious activity, political activity, or personal commitments; do not share private conversations without permission; do not collect member contact information for unauthorized marketing; and do not misrepresent your business, expertise, income, qualifications, or results.
IWEC may remove users from community platforms, events, directories, programs, or memberships for violating these guidelines.
12. Resources, Templates, Guides, and Educational Content
IWEC may provide articles, guides, checklists, videos, templates, toolkits, workshops, downloadable resources, and other educational materials.
These resources are provided for general information and educational purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional advice, including legal, tax, accounting, financial, investment, immigration, medical, mental health, or business consulting advice specific to your situation.
You are responsible for verifying information and seeking qualified professionals before making important decisions. We try to keep our resources helpful and current, but we do not guarantee that all information is complete, accurate, up to date, or suitable for your specific business or personal circumstances.
13. No Guarantee of Results
IWEC may share business education, community support, networking opportunities, mentorship access, visibility, tools, templates, and resources.
However, we do not guarantee business registration approval, grant or funding approval, increased sales, customers or clients, media coverage, business growth, event outcomes, mentor availability, partnership opportunities, financial success, or personal or professional results.
Your outcomes depend on your own effort, market conditions, business model, skills, timing, budget, legal compliance, and many other factors.
14. Sponsorships, Partnerships, and Volunteers
IWEC may work with sponsors, partners, volunteers, community organizations, businesses, government agencies, educators, speakers, and service providers.
Participation as a sponsor, partner, or volunteer does not create an employment relationship, joint venture, agency relationship, franchise relationship, or legal partnership unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.
IWEC reserves the right to approve or reject sponsors, partners, speakers, volunteers, and collaborators based on mission alignment, community safety, ethical standards, reputation, capacity, and organizational needs. Sponsors and partners must not make misleading claims, exploit members, or use IWEC's name or audience without permission.
15. Third-Party Links and Resources
Our website may include links to third-party websites, services, tools, grants, government pages, business resources, sponsors, partners, or external platforms. These links are provided for convenience and information only.
IWEC does not control and is not responsible for third-party website content, accuracy of external information, third-party privacy practices, third-party terms, third-party payments, grants or programs offered by external organizations, or products or services offered by members, sponsors, or partners. You access third-party websites and services at your own risk.
16. User Submissions
You may submit information through forms, applications, comments, testimonials, event registrations, profile forms, resource downloads, surveys, sponsorship inquiries, volunteer applications, mentor forms, or contact forms.
By submitting content to IWEC, you confirm that your submission is accurate and lawful; you have the right to share it; it does not violate another person's rights; and it does not contain harmful, offensive, defamatory, discriminatory, or illegal content.
You grant IWEC permission to use submitted non-confidential content for reasonable organizational purposes, including processing applications, managing memberships, reviewing mentor/volunteer requests, communicating with you, promoting approved member stories, and improving services. If you submit a testimonial, business story, image, logo, or quote, we may request additional consent before publishing it publicly.
17. Intellectual Property
All website content, unless otherwise stated, belongs to IWEC, Newcomer Success Network Canada, or its licensors. This may include website design, written content, logos, branding, graphics, photos, videos, downloads, templates, guides, workshops, presentations, resource materials, and event materials.
You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, publish, or use our content for commercial purposes without written permission.
You may download resources made available for personal or internal business learning use, provided you do not resell, rebrand, redistribute, or claim them as your own.
18. Trademarks and Branding
The names Immigrant Women Entrepreneur Canada, IWEC, and Newcomer Success Network Canada, along with related logos, marks, visuals, and branding, may not be used without prior written permission.
You may not suggest that IWEC endorses you, your business, your event, your product, or your service unless we have provided written approval.
